THE GATHERISTS STORY

We arrive as strangers and leave as friends

— Seraina Hürlimann, co-host Copenhagen editions

THE GATHERISTS

The Gatherists is a personal concept by Marieke Verdenius, created to offer something social media cannot: meaningful, in-person connection between creatives who genuinely admire not only each other’s work — but also the person behind it.

Since 2017, each edition brings together a carefully curated group of designers, photographers, stylists, writers, makers and creative entrepreneurs in inspiring studios, workshops and ateliers. There is no formal program — but there is intention. The strength lies in the intimacy of the setting, the quality of conversation, and the openness to share ideas, questions and experiences in a trusted circle.

Over the years, these gatherings have led to collaborations, friendships, commissioned projects and unexpected new directions. What may begin with coffee and cake often unfolds into something far more lasting.

The Gatherists is small by design — usually 12–14 guests — to keep the exchange personal and meaningful. Our next edition — number 55 — takes place on April 18 in Berlin.

I look forward to welcoming you at one of the gatherings.

— Marieke

GATHERINGS

The Gatherists is a unique concept that likes to travel too! We co-hosted get togethers with fellow creatives in London, Florence, Copenhagen and Edinburgh.

But also closer to home in multiple cities in The Netherlands, where we search for the beautiful studios and ateliers where we can experience how creatives, makers and artists work. Like a coffee roastery, a gallery and interior studio or the workplace of a ceramicist or woodworker.

We are always open to talk about collaborations or events that revolve around creating togetherness. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have an idea that you’d like to share!
